About us

Hello! My name is Angela Vasconez, and I am the creator of this website, designed to delve deeper into and analyze the fascinating case of the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica scandal. As an international student, I am deeply passionate about exploring digital media and its far-reaching implications. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Arts and Digital Communication Systems at the University of Niagara Falls, Canada 🇨🇦.

This case has been a cornerstone of my research and curiosity, as it not only exposed critical flaws in data privacy but also marked the beginnings of global digital regulations. It serves as a stark reminder of how personal data can be misused and the ethical responsibilities of digital platforms.

Data Misuse

The unauthorized collection of data from 87 million Facebook users showed how personal information could be exploited without consent.

Political Manipulation

Cambridge Analytica weaponized this data to influence elections, targeting voters with highly personalized and manipulative ads.

Global Impact

This case sparked the creation of stricter privacy regulations, such as GDPR, and transformed how the world views data protection.
